Kim Colna, LCSW

Kimberly Colna is our Practice Owner and Founder with 15 years of experience in healthcare. She has provided quality care since completing her master’s degree in Clinical Social Work in 2008. Kim has specialized in mental health treatment for the last 15 years with a focus in pediatric mental health and intervention. She brings a vast amount of knowledge from her background working in direct clinical care in both outpatient and inpatient psychiatric settings alongside providing diagnostic assessments and psychotherapy in schools. In addition, she is passionate about continuous education and teaching for healthcare providers. She serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Social Work and as a Faculty Member at the CU School of Medicine with Children’s Hospital Colorado. She provides care to patients who have comorbid psychiatric and medical needs as part of the Pediatric Psychiatric Consultation and Emergency Services team. Previously, Kim worked in academic medicine at Virginia Tech-Carilion in Roanoke, Virginia on the Child and Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatric Unit and CAPT Program.

Recently, Kim spends the majority of her clinical time specializing in pediatric, young adult, and postpartum OCD using CBT with ERP. In 2021, Kim partnered with Lowry Pediatrics to develop an integrated behavioral health program, which is co-located at Lowry Pediatrics. Wellcova Health at Lowry Pediatrics continues to serve children, adolescents, and families using a multi-disciplinary approach involving our team of licensed Mental Health Therapists, Psychiatrists, and Nurse Practitioners. This model allows close collaboration across disciplines and early intervention while reducing stigma associated with accessing mental health treatment.

In her free time, Kim enjoys traveling, skiing, cooking, and riding horses with her friends, family, and Stetson, her Huskador, in the mountains of Colorado.
